The new Cohesion Policy: first considerations on the EU 2014-2020 program
Regione Veneto reports on European programming for next 6 years
The Cohesion Policy is one of the principal strategies for the functioning of the European Union, one of the vehicles for achieving "Europe 2020" goals. The main objectives are the implementation of "economic, social and territorial cohesion and solidarity among Member States"; "reducing disparities between the levels of development of the various regions and the backwardness of the least-favoured regions".
During the financial programming period from 2014 through 2020, support for this part of the European policy will be about 336 billion euros, over 33% of the total European budget. For the territory and its enterprises this is an opportunity to participate in the projects and initiatives that have access to about one third of European Union funds.
How can these funds be obtained? Which lines of strategic intervention will be supported? Toward what subjects must project development be oriented? These and other questions will be answered Friday, July 13 by Regione Veneto officials Roberto Rognoni (Programming) and Flavia Zuccon (Transfrontier Cooperation), who will clarify the main points of the programming for the new 2014-2020 six-year period.
The meeting is an important opportunity for understanding what can be done to construct mid-term projects and is aimed primarily at territorial authorities, but also at enterprises. The regional officials will provide guidelines that will enable said territorial subjects to identify areas of action and partnerships for the near future. By starting to work immediately, they will be ready when the new notifications are published.
The meeting begins at 4pm, Friday, July 13 at Certottica, Longarone. Participation is free and open to all.
