Eyewear on the red carpet at Cannes

Top actors wearing famous eyewear brands at the International Film Festival

Like every year, the Cannes International Film Festival was attended by a bevy of actors, actresses and VIPs wearing numerous different brands of eyewear with leading roles.

Let's take a peek at a tracking-shot of the models that took to the catwalk at one of the most prestigious cinema events.

The latest discovery, actress Tea Falco, star of "Io e Te", out-of-competition film by Bernardo Bertolucci, was wearing a pair of Wild Diva sunglasses, a special edition created by Roberto Cavalli and produced and distributed by Marcolin. This is an iconic, glam, savage model with a unique look in which the front piece is artfully processed to generate a second-skin effect expressing an impetuous spirit through decisive lines and vigorous features.

Marcolin is again the name behind the Tod's TO66 model, immortalised on Andrea Casiraghi by the paparazzi. The Tod's eyewear expresses the distinctive signs of the brand icons in subtle and luxury details. The detail of braided leather reproduced on the stems is the emblem of the craft workmanship that has always been in the DNA of the brand and has made the Tod's products – from loafers to bracelets – famous all over the world. Tatiana Santo Domingo, on the other hand, appears to favour the Nikita model by Tom Ford, another ultra-famous brand from the Marcolin group.

Bernardo Bertolucci himself opted for a Persol Capri Edition as did Marion Cotillard, attending the festival and also in competition as the star of "Rust and Bone".

The Ray-Ban Wayfarer RB2132 was instead the choice of Bruce Willis for the film festival, during which the film "Moonrise Kingdom", directed by the American Wes Anderson, was presented. Starring alongside the world-famous actor in the film is his friend Billy Murray, who again was sporting the Ray-Ban Wayfarers RB 4105 folding model.

Lanvin, a brand of the De Rigo maison was also in the front line at the event, showcasing model SLN504 which was worn by Nicole Kidman on her arrival at Nice airport. The model features a squared sunglass frame in acetate, embellished on front piece and stems with metal inserts and screws that evoke the Lanvin accessories designed by Alber Elbaz.

Eva Herzigova was snapped wearing glasses from the D&G Matt Silk range, produced and distributed by Luxottica. Another star role for the eyewear giant was inevitably reserved for Versace Eyewear, modelled by the stunning Reese Witherspoon.

Also present at the star-studded event was Lapo Elkann, always accompanied by his Italia Independent glasses created to celebrate Juventus, even on the Croisette, where he sported outfits certainly not designed to go unnoticed.
