The new line of iconic eyewear for spring-summer 2013
Versace launches Signature, the latest eyewear collection for Spring/Summer 2013. The exclusive capsule collection presents the Fashion House's iconic motifs reinterpreted in a sophisticated modern key.
First launched by Gianni Versace in 1991 as a clothing and accessories line, the Signature collection has marked an essential phase for the Fashion House, to the extent that in 1994 it became the theme of the travelling international exhibition "Versace Signature by Gianni Versace". The most significant exhibition venues included the Metropolitan Museum in New York and the Kunstgeweber Museum in Berlin.
Today the Signature eyewear collection completes a new line of accessories, bags, shoes and jewellery presented on the Milanese catwalk during the fashion show Versace Woman Spring/Summer 2013. Regarding eyewear, the classical cat eye shape is enhanced by trendy asymmetrical geometries designed on the side pieces by the iconic metal Signature motif.

The Versace Signature eyewear collection, which includes three sunglasses and one model for prescription glasses, will be marketed in Versace boutiques and by selected brand retailers throughout the world from April 2013.
The oversize frame of these acetate sunglasses with an exclusive angular profile is the ultimate expression of Versace's highly personal style, inspired by the iconic shapes of the '80s. The model features unique details with extraordinary finishes, such as the new Signature symbol etched on the outside of the side piece, near the hinge.
The lines of this model capture the most seductive charm of the Fashion House. The round oversize profile inspired by the timeless taste of the 1950s and 1960s frames the eyes of the modern woman, endowing her with a look of mysterious sophistication. The thick acetate side pieces, which are also inspired by the ageless charm of the period, witness Versace's exceptional talent for beauty and exclusive items. The Signature theme applied on the hinge of every side piece enlivens and underscores the refinement of a model, whose simplicity will always be perfect.
Unique innovative design is the core feature of these outstanding sunglasses. The modern cat eye profile of the rimless front is highlighted by the acetate and metal frame in the top portion of the sunglasses. The acetate side pieces match the metal front and stand out for the delightful new Signature symbol that launches a style that will soon be iconic.
